Phoenix Pact Student Response Fund

Phoenix Pact is more than a scholarship.
Our Pact has always been to do whatever it takes for as long as it takes to help our scholars earn their college degree. Today, that means doing everything we can to support our students and to help them stay safe. We are focusing on meeting students’ most immediate needs. Given that circumstances are ever-changing, we will continue to provide as much support as possible to keep them on track for college and post-college success.

The coronavirus pandemic has created uncertainty, anxiety and changes in everyone’s day-to-day routines and experiences. But it is magnified for many who were already facing significant challenges. Some of our students don’t have stable housing, many are struggling with the technology needs to accommodate their remote education and almost all of their families were in precarious financial situations before dealing with recent furloughs and layoffs.

The intent of the Emergency Response Fund is to offer critical support to meet essential day-to-day needs and allow our Scholars to keep making progress on their educational goals and future aspirations. Examples of needs being met:

  • Housing/Shelter
  • Food
  • Medical/Health Care
  • Technology to support online/remote classes and continuing education
  • Transportation

If you are in a position to help, our contribution to the fund will be put to use for students and families who, in most cases, don’t have anywhere else to turn. Please be as generous as you can and know that your gift will be appreciated beyond measure by the students you are helping.

Thalia, Sagia, Kiana, Nakevia, and Raven are 2020 Pact Scholars headed to college this fall.
