More than a Scholarship,
It’s a Pact.
Phoenix Pact will do whatever it takes to help our Scholars earn a college degree.
Connecting students and colleges.
Phoenix Pact connects college-ready NLCP graduates with colleges that have track records of graduating students of all backgrounds.
Reducing the burden.
Phoenix Pact secures grants and other financial aid to ensure that our Scholars’ loan debt is kept to a manageable level. On average, Pact is able to leverage $20k per student.
Filling the gap.
Phoenix Pact awards scholarships to cover any remaining financial aid gap, ensuring that our Scholars can enroll and remain in college through graduation. The average scholarship per student per year is $4k.
All-encompassing support.
Phoenix Pact helps to fund basic necessities, such as books, transportation, and emergency expenses– and provides individualized counseling to help our Scholars stay focused on their goals and put setbacks into perspective.
Creating and nurturing leaders.
Phoenix Pact’s scholars are called on to Repair the World. Our Scholars have gone on to become lawyers, teachers, engineers, nurses, entrepreneurs, social workers, and community organizers. Many are working back in the North Lawndale community itself.
Focusing Resources on Scholars
Since its inception, 95% of Phoenix Pact expenditures have gone to direct support of Pact Scholars, including more than 4 million dollars in Pact scholarships.
