Kendra Clayton

After graduating from UIC, Kendra completed a year of service with the North Lawndale Service Corps / Public Allies at Sinai Chicago as an Adult Protective Service Support Specialist. 

Kendra is now employed by Bobby E. Wright Comprehensive Behavioral Health Center, the first Black-owned and operated community mental health center to be funded under the Community Mental Health Act of 1963. As a Community Relations Outreach and Engagement Coordinator, Kendra is busy building and maintaining relationships with partner organizations, organizing community events, as well as engaging and educating the community about mental health and substance abuse.

“My advice to future students is to know that you are worthy of achieving a college degree and can make it happen, even when you face adversity. School can get stressful and overwhelming at times, but don’t let it consume you. Stay focused, trust the process, and finish strong! You CAN do it!!”
