Now the Director of Student Services at Civitas Education Partners, Kasandra has more than 10 years of experience working with a variety of students with disabilities in 3 urban school districts. Kasandra is pursuing her interests in restructuring the system of supports to enable more equitable access to those services and supports for individuals with disabilities and their families in urban settings– and continues to engage in research and networking activities to promote, educate, and empower youth and their families.

Advice to RBL Scholars
"Stay committed to your goal, whatever it is. Times will get tough. You have to give yourself the space and time to be discouraged. You have to give yourself permission to feel that you can't. Push through it. Have courage. In the end you will succeed."
